Just Do It! (short contest)

Just trying to slowly work my way back onto the site so I thought I'd hold a very short contest while members await Michael's acrostic contest to start. Yes, I realise it's the weekend etc and, possibly I'll have no takers but...if you fancy a go,,here it is. For convenience, I will judge this myself so just post your poem here...

Choose one emotion (make it your title) and no more than six lines long...Like I said, short contest both in time and lines...show me what you've got. or not...your choice :)

This will finish as soon as Michael posts his contest....

I could possibly be 'stealing' items from members and offering them up as rewards so...first poem in could receive the pinky ring on "Lucifer's right hand haha!!! Lucifer...do you want to save your ring? Post a poem to save it or have someone else steal it from you :)

  • Hellon

No one seems to want Lucifer's ring (including him) but...it's still up for grabs!

In the mean time....Milly's frog is looking good to me...how much does Milly love her frog? Enough to write a six lined poems on one emotion or is anyone willing to steal her frog???

    Hellon(acrostic) emotion is optimism.

    Her
    energy is
    luminous
    light
    of
    nature.

    Is it OK?
    It's six lines.

Can I have my ring back?

  • Hellon replied to Lucifer

You can have your ring back for sure...well I think...you have six lines...but what was your emotion?

I do appreciate that it was an acrostic and, it had my name but..I can't give any bonus points for that...only your ring back for now :)

    Milly's missing frog:

    My psychedelic frog is lost
he must be found at any cost
    small and tiny shaded green
    surely someone must have seen
he cannot croak for he is mute
I hope that someone finds my newt (minute)

What is your title Michael...I'm knocking out a couple of options here haha?? Milly...your frog is on the line here???

  • Lucifer replied to Hellon

    Is optimism an emotion?

Hellon the poem I wrote for you is optimistic, isn't it?

So if being optimistic is an emotion, I think I did it right then

  • Hellon replied to Lucifer

Yeah..I think it is...can both you and Michael edit your poems to include your titles of emotions please...and anyone else who posts please include your title...

This one is for Milly's frog

    Chorus(emotion is silence)

    A congregation of the handful
    of cold-blooded carnivores
    obeying
    the law of the rain
    to obliterate
    the silence around me.

    It is the equality

    Nothing can carry on unsymmetrical

    Title: Ambivalence

    Short of hopes, a log swims;
    Afloat -
    Down towards a riverbank.

Just in time - a lumberjack,
    Out, cutting trees,
    Yells, "there you are!".

Yes, Milly's frog seems to be a popular treasure with both you an Michael vying for it. So far Milly has not come forward to reclaim him but, there's still time yet.

So, I've been looking around for some other little 'incentives' and here's what I've relocated to my goody bag and can now offer to you unless the owners bargain for them with their own poem.

    Britt's very trendy glasses
    Jane's Silvershoes
    Maryanne's lovely looking dog.

  • Lucifer

    For marryanne's dog

    Barked(emotion is affection)

    Balance of the
    affectionate
    relationship between the
    kind and
    energetic
    devotion.

  • Hellon replied to Lucifer

Oh dear Maryanne...Looks like Lucifer is challenging you for your dog! Are you going to let him away with it, woof woof!!!!

  • Lucifer

    For Jane's silvershoes

    Silver(emotion is hope)

    Shadow of
    inner darkness
    lightened up when
    valor
    enamored with
    radiance.

  • Hellon replied to Lucifer

OMG...looks like Lucifer is seriously after all that's in the goody bag. Competing with Michael for Milly's frog and now...laying stakes for Maryanne's woof and Jane's Silvershoes. Ladies...are you going to let him away with this???

    Train frustrations

    Sitting on the train home
    alone, and reading
    until
Ms "make up and no knickers"
parks her ass next to mine and
adjusts her bra and make up

    Envy

    A cloak can neither
cover nor contain the scales that
begin to plate my skin -
    emerald and serpentine in appearance,
    I am becoming a monster.

    Numb

She felt the raindrops touch her
But unlike the way he touched her-
    And yet the difference didn’t matter;
she became cold, and she did not notice
that the bridge where she stood
    crumbled with her.

  • Lucifer

    for britts glasses

    Love (emotion is courage)

    Land
    of
    venturous
    ecstasy.

  • Hellon

Wow!!! Lucifer has cleared out the goody bag and, it seems he will be allowed to keep his treasures! Perhaps I'll have to hunt around for some more items haha!!!

I think Michael may be posting his contest soon so there's not much time left guys. It's been a grand turnout so far I think :)

    A Frogs Despair

Please dont steal me, I'm a frog in despair
Im offering to my frog God, a frantic prayer
I like living with Milly, she's good for morale
and want to stay with her, cause she is my pal
Should you steal me away, I will fade into grey
If I'm to be happy, its here I must stay.

  • Hellon

Milly came screaming in at the very end to claim back her frog haha!!!

As Michael has now posted his contest this one will close. Lucifer, it looks like you can hang onto the rest of the loot as they remain unclaimed by their owners!

I'm going to have a friend who is interested in poetry (not a member of this site) help me choose a winner as the entries are all so damn good I need it!

Hopefully I'll have a result later today but...you are all winners in my book...thank you all for participating.

I kinda missed the boat on this occasion. Gutted as I wanted a frog

So....once again thanks to everyone who participated...I hope you enjoyed the challenge as much as I enjoyed reading your entries (although, choosing a winner has left me with a HUGE headache haha!!)

After much 'mulling' my friend and I have decided to present the "Just Do It!" award to Larry for his syntuit. The decision was a tough one but we were swayed because this short poem is so in the moment of today's society where so many lovely buildings/sights are blocked out by big heads or bigheads haha!!! Take a well deserved bow Larry!

Thanks again everyone and...special mention to Lucifer who was the most enthusiastic entrant I feel...You look pretty cool in them Slivershoes and trendy glasses dude...hope you look after Maryanne's woof dog :)
