One. Drop. Could. Kill

by Em (marmite)   May 31, 2018

How I've missed the smell
of your fruitiness upon my lips
the way you make me confident
allow me to speak to anyone

how you give me a buzz
even if it doesn't last long
give me confidence to dance
in a room full of rowdy people

what I haven't missed is
how much I really need you
how you make my lips quiver;
how my body shakes just for

I vowed I wouldn't touch you again
no matter how loud you called my name
yet here I am drunk on you
the rooms in a spin

I've only let myself down.

I've only got myself to blame.

An excellent insightful piece. Loved the creative and ingenious way you have portrayed the addiction with the initial lead one way and the reveal of something else at the end. One of your best! Milly x

Why are the things we crave the most the very things we ought not to? Human nature makes fools of us every time! Brilliantly expressed Em :-) x
