always so much brighter when

You never cease to amaze me with your wordcraft. In three lines... 17 syllables... you managed to create a powerful, deep, and relatable statement about society. I had to come back to this, well, because it inspired me to write something of my own. Swing by the boards when you can. Tag! You're it!

Thank you so much, Tony. As for the main boards, I'll have a peep later.

Love this, Ben, as I am nodding my head that it's often so true. I also feel like we're always saying this, because tragedy strikes again and again, there's always something to mourn or feel helpless toward, and we don't know what to do to heal the wounds or address the darkness. Sometimes, it seems better to keep to ourselves and shut out what we see. I wonder too if we do that to protect ourselves or "recharge our batteries". Or if we have the ability others don't to only focus on what directly affects us.

It is true, sometimes I just want to shut out the world and live in my cocoon.

I live in a world where the curtains are nearly always drawn. At times it can feel like a prison but also can be a much brighter place when one considers the cruelty, evils and unfairness of the world outside
