The Exam

by Bryce   Apr 28, 2019

Scene: Inside the exam hall

They sit there; competent
and you sit there; incompetent.

You look around,
They fiercely scratch pieces of paper with black ink
You look at yourself,
Your pen has no ink.

You told them.
You told them!
You didn't want to climb the tree.
They didn't listen.
They couldn't see,
You were a fish splashing water.

Your mind; it has become
Your life, it has become
you. you feel worthless.

you don't want to die.
Not Yet.

welcome to the site, bryce! for your first poem here, it was a good beginning, and i won't be disappointed by the next ones. i enjoyed how you used the formatting to strong effect without having to outright sprinkle exclamation marks like pepper. i don't really have a lot to say about the poem other than this, because really: i do mean it when i say it speaks for itself.
