So much depth in this, and I see that it's been a few months since you posted, welcome back! What struck me about this poem is that you used simple words and lines, but this person's impact then absence speaks incredibly loud. This actually reminds me of a YA novel I'm currently reading called "Phantom Limbs", this person's love comes back after three years, and we learn it was because of a traumatic event. You have this "utopia", this understanding of love and understanding what it means to truly know and love each other, then their leaving brings about the dark side of life you never knew before. Or had conquered, but now face it again. This person returns and you have nothing left to share with them or give them. That feeling of being empty inside when your soul was once so full, that gives me chills.
Favorite lines: "You knew me long enough to own it."
^ Eight words that speak of a maturity, an age to this love, being proud perhaps to know this person's truth, confident that you have both shared your authenticity with each other.
Can't wait to read more of your poetry in the future! Take care <3
