1 Corinthians 10:13

by Lost One   Aug 19, 2019

In all I've seen I've come to know
That one of two is true
That either God does not exist
Or cares nothing of what we do

Five years old and innocent
Just playing with my toys
When your God saw fit to test
The resilience of little boys

The things that I endured
I still carry to this day
I tried, and tried, and tried in vain
To let them go every night I prayed

That could not be the end of it
For the violence descended next
Though this time my mother was
The instrument of his test

She scarred my body, wracked my soul
But mostly dangled hope
The hope prolonged the suffering
And pain I'd come to know

The man today who's writing this
Was born when a young boy died
Was forged in blood and tempered
By the countless tears he cried

Oh, Tony, it's good to see you writing again but I am so sorry you had to endure all this. No one should ever have to go through that or have their innocence stolen. Abuse is abuse and I think it's incredibly human to ask why, why you had to suffer, why you were met with silence when you wanted comforted and less pain and more hope.

Sending a great deal of support, thank you for sharing this with us, it could not have been easy.

Tony, I am so sorry you endured what you did. No child should have to go through abuse. Stay strong, keep whatever faith you use.
