This is my fourth time reading this, and each time I want to exclaim (that's why I had to accurately use all caps) how beautifully sad and reminiscent this is. I could see this in a poetry book, that repetition of "I have craved you", written so lovingly, so soft and gentle. The intimacy of this poem both in the colors and comparisons and immersions in nature, it reminded me how grand yet delicate love can be. How small the world can become when compared to the size and depth of this love. The world can change, seasons come and go, and you're still left yearning for this person.
So lovely, Ben. I have no other words to describe it!
I love how after reading, I sigh. Because it's just enough imagery you gave us, just enough of a memory you are reliving or holding on to as best you can.
