Set Your Sails For Stormy Weather

by Ben Pickard   Jan 6, 2020

If hammers fall and nails bend
Then why are holes so often round?
No longer can we all pretend
That silence comes without a sound.

If babies cry when they are born
Then why should life be filled with calm?
We must prepare our ships for storms
Or sink beneath the waves and harm.

If heaven rings its bells so loud
Then why do ghosts appear at all?
If evil hides amongst the crowds
Then devils lurk behind the walls.

No longer should we run and hide -
The truth is damned but damns us all -
We must prepare to fight the tide
And navigate the howling squall.
