Coming For Her Soul

by BEJohnson   Feb 9, 2020

Her eyes are stinging by her tears
As they cover up her relentless pain.
She dances silently in the darkness
To the pattern of the sudden rain.

She hears the angels soothing voice
Whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
Telling her to dance into the darkness
To lose all ounce of her lingering fears.

“Come to me my child
Dance to your death.
You have no more family
You have nothing left.

Smile your innocent smile
Watch as your life fades.
Don't do this anymore
My child drop your blade.

I have come to save you
My child dry your tears.
No longer shall you tremble
You shall never live in fear.

My child listen to my voice
Listen as it begins to fade.
Everything will be alright
When you're in your grave.

The reaper will come
For only your soul.
My child I swear in return
You past will never unfold.

Just let your mind rest now
Dance away your dreams.
Because my dearest child
I'm not who I may seem.”
