Losing a loved one is awful! A lady I work with lost her husband this past year and she's really been struggling with adapting to a new normal. You really put a face to those struggles. Well done Ben-

I'm sorry to hear that, Brenda. I suppose there is no real normal after suffering such a great loss, is there?

    Hello Ben,
This is profoundly sad and composed with a dirge-like melody lamenting through every line, which is, poetically speaking, beautiful. The rhyming sequence is most elegant and fitting. The poetry of sorrow in a melancholic beauty. An excellent passage of poetic literature. Well done.
    Regards, Tony.

Bereavement is never easy. A melancholy write that will reverberate with anyone who has lost someone and not been able to say the things that they needed to. Milly x

A poem of lament - the pain of someone's absence, of fathoming their own pain, yet holding on to meeting against as stars...

so much from the heart. This touched me deeply, Ben <3

Good Sir, your work is brilliant as always. This hits home for me, seeing a good friend of mine suffer after losing her dad recently. The emotion in this has been communicated well, a signature of Mr Pickard.

Thanks for sharing and all the best :)

First off, sorry to hear of your friend's father's passing, Maher. Never easy losing anyone close to us so I do sympathise. Secondly - and far less importantly - thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.
      All the best as ever.

Every time I read anything you write I drift away with the emotion, it’s like I go to a different world. I mean that in a good way!!
The poetry I’ve been reading here in P&Q this past week, is just so sad. The longing, the pain and the suffering.
This is incredibly touching. I wanted to leave a comment earlier, I just don’t know what to say!
    Congrats on the win :)
