There are times in poetry where all we can do is express what we are feeling at the time no matter how the reader feels. This poem definitely took my breath away (in the best way possible) because i am the type of person who loves reading these types of poems.

No one can feel what another person goes through no matter what they say because our feelings are our own. Death is a tricky subject to write on because it's not subjective at all. All i can say is a lot of people have felt death BUT each feeling is our own as i said.

The poem itself is full of melancholy and there is love there as well. Because this person whom has passed you loved dearly. The way you wrote this though it could be a young person a baby perhaps that you never got to hold. I can't imagine the pain you are going through. Hopefully writing helped a little bit at least

When I first read this I also thought it was a child you’ve lost, I dont know why.
This hits hard, especially at times like this when death is literally lingering in the air.

    I hope you’re well.

I've lost a fair few people/pets the last few years and had my fair share of funerals, including my wife suffering a miscarriage. I guess this was all encompassing, but I was thinking specifically of my Grandad's funeral. I always hugged him and even kissed him but - once he died - I realised I didn't do it enough. Anyway, thanks, Star

Beautifully written, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope this piece was cathartic to write.

So much emotion contained in such a short piece. Simply beautiful.
We never think to show others how we feel until it is too late and this encompasses that to perfection.

I think we always think our loved ones will always be there. I know it isn't a practical thought but such is how us humans seem to work. Hugs my friend-

I find myself wishing this all the time my friend, so few words but such an impactful statement/ realization. Sending all the possitive energy and light.

Hindsight is certainly a wonderful thing although a sad piece I'm sure that the people you have recently lost will know how much you cared and though difficult it makes us more grateful to the people we still have.
    Take care
