Puppet Master

I'll be honest you really had me fooled.
You fed me the perfect lines repeatedly.
I thought I was living a perfect fairy tale.
How blind I was by my own stupidity.

You said things that I wanted to hear.
Made promises you have never kept.
You built me up and broke me down.
I'll be alright though don't you fret.

No longer will you control my actions.
I'm severing all ties we once shared.
You will never control my life again.
Don't you dare say I never cared.

I cared more than you ever did.
I loved you more than anyone.
But, that was then this is now.
In the end you haven't won.

When you let me fall I was crushed
It was a complete utter disaster.
Now I see that I'm better off.
You're no longer my puppet master.
