Golem

by Anthony Krieman   Jun 26, 2020

My eyes now long to witness
A gentle breeze stir up the dust
In the heart I never opened
To a world I cannot trust

How refreshing would the gale
To this worn and weathered husk
With sturdy walls unrelenting
To all unfamiliar touch

And what touch could be familiar
When all who try to enter fail
As good intended assertations
Cascade off to no avail

For in the mansion of my soul
It’s one room I’m so inclined
To let this stone and stalwart organ
Protect my disenfranchised mind

Com-part-men-tal-i-za-tion
Is my only chance to survive
What my fractured mind has witnessed;
Let the golem rule the hive

I just loved this opening stanza, it drew me in and the rest of your words kept me there. Nominated!
