Snow Is Indifferent

by Lost star   Sep 15, 2020

Snow,
falling
gracefully
on loves tombstone,
covers memories
which I cling to with
unknown, desperate, defiance...

I long for spring to smite winters
breath, so a heart built for purpose
may claim recognition,
perchance to blossom.

Beautiful. "I long for spring to smite winter's breath" - it's as if the speaker is looking for hope in more than one way, hoping that their heart can be given the chance to bloom once again.
