Past Denials

by Violet Raven   Oct 20, 2020

There's something about writing suicide
notes that feels right. Perhaps it's the verve
of being able to showcase written skills that
will impress people after death occurs.

Or

maybe they'll just shred the letter denying
this celestial bodies existence. Star dust
doesn't exist and neither does this fag in
the eyes of your lords named mom and dad.

Lesbian voyeurism proves nothing but
raising suspicion when right handed fingers
become sticky with tears, and embarrassment
from virgin insecurities that quail everyday.

Hatred filled violence is controlled by liquid
substances that smell of lies spewed around
these heart's walls that have been written on
with suicide notes the day I was conceived.
-

Despite everything:

These pages were shredded
by fingers that struck matches
burning the phoenix you
attempted to recreate.

There is no amount of rain
that can cause me to leave
behind this trans umbrella
even with your past denials.

I feel there is a poem here on its own...it stands out from the other stanzas.

This world we live in now throws contradictions and moves the bar at every corner so we are al confused.

    Nicely done.
