You tell yourself
Nobody will ever love you
Because it's easier
Than admitting someone might
It's easier to believe
You need no one
Then to hold on to the hope
That someday you will need someone
It's so much easier
To believe you're cracked
Then to believe you're whole
And it's so much easier
To guard your heart
From the very start
Then let someone in
And give it the chance
Of being broken
So you tell yourself
Nobody will ever love you
And you tell yourself
It's because you're unlovable
But in reality
You are so lovable
And someone will see that someday
And perhaps that terrifies you
More than being alone

Mimi, you write with a maturity beyond your years. We are always the hardest on ourselves. Sometimes those voices whispering inside us convince us this is true, this can cause us to make bad choices when it comes to relationships. Always remember, you are worthwhile and believe in yourself!

Childhood trauma does tend to make one mature. I guess that's because when you learn the world isn't all butterflies and rainbows, you don't tend to hold on to that part of you.
