Gibbous Moon

by Anthony Krieman   Feb 2, 2021

In the dark of night I see clearly
When all around me fumble blind
I owe this nightling endowed vision
To my disenfranchised mind

All the masks we wear are hidden
‘neath the pale and gibbous moon
Who makes clear the missintentions
In his dark and dreary gloom

He whispers to me their secrets
And he reveals to me their lies
He demands the debt be paid
With the echoes of their cries
