Twilight (free verse)

by Keira Pickard   Mar 29, 2021

the perfect hour:
when day meets violet dusk
in hues of indigo, blue and gold

freckled with faraway stars
and golden sun rays
that dance with moonbeams

the sky pirouettes into shadows,
skulking in the darkness
'till morning dawns again

there's a euphoric sense of nostalgia
as the sun sinks with a sigh
and you do the same, bidding it:

" Farewell."
