Clover

Can’t even close my eyes without daydreaming of yours
So golden green just like the leaves of a clover, four
As luck would have it, I’d only have you for so long
But memories last forever like the melodies of our songs

    Hello Kate,
The title 'clover' made me wonder is it the four leaf kind or the spreadable kind, I kid but I guess it could be and in poetry anything goes really, doesn't it? Because creativity, is key.

I like the opening here although there's a sense of longing and I'm left wondering if this is about lost love or a long distance love (as I can't see on the mobike version what it comes under) and to be honest both would suffice as the yearning is definitely prominent in this piece and the description of this person's eyes tells me that you were/are close and have been for some time.

This hit me heavy in the chest, the realisation of losing someone is horrendous whether it be by death or splitting up... I'm not sure which is worse because death is forever whereas losing someone you risk walking past them in the streets and no matter what happened, you feel like strangers.
This may be short but it is certainly packs a punch,
    Nominated,
    Take care x

      Thank you :)

I’m happy you like it. It can have different meanings depending on the reader but you hit the description perfectly. It’s a bit of longing, desire, having to give someone up that was never yours.
