you linger
in the abandoned corridors
of my heart
down my windowpanes
and falling at my feet
not even your eyelashes
can hide the grip
of your memory

space can’t pull
these stars apart
constellation
in my chest
and even if we were
separated by galaxies
it couldnt keep me
from coming back
to you

turning train tracks
into rocket ships
if that’s something
you might like
blasting off for things like
-bit lips
-crooked smiles
-i love you big
-smiling with you

all this madness

-pressed palms
-sun in my eyes
-feeling your smile
against mine

like the world is finally
on the right axis

and isn’t that just
as it should
always be
just like
you and i
