Embroider me Pt 1

by Anastasia   May 18, 2022

There are broken bottles everywhere
shards everywhere
It's great that I can still breathe
The giant towers out there
I let it gently rise and fall
I climb up my threads to
Tie them shut
As soon as I can
But they unraveled again
And now they're strangling me

I'm naive and didn't see
The tall white stones falling unto me
All of the sudden it got too bright to see
And now I'm paralyzed, so you
Can embroider me

It's great that you appreciate
Me when I'm vulnerable
But it would be right if I could be
Revered and loved when I am hard
I'm not much for paper crane energy
The causeways I built were meant to
Be beautiful and last for centuries

~ Anastasia (I wept as I wrote this one down from my book...) (From my album Come, Behold The Meadow And Embroider Me: chapter 1 "She hates being dead")

I love the idea of "embroidering someone", it's new to me. A beautifully sad poem.
May you find peace. Keep writing!

I have SO many poems to share with the wonderful other beings here. My little black book is almost half full of illustration and sonnets, some are in French. Thank you!
