Oh my....I'm a detail freak, and I just fell in love with your descriptions here....I actually have a city in mind that I pictured when reading this, so I really loved the visualization here!!

I enjoyed your rhyme scheme here. This almost was a free verse poem, but I noticed the hint of rhyme here and there and I feel it made the flow really neat.

I like this poem for one specific reason, peopel complain so much about this nation, I am one of them honestly, but we don't stop to enjoy the beauty of it still...yes times are tough, yes laws and rules are starting to get thrown out the window, but have you ever taken a walk down a pretty road that made our nation look just beautiful?? People probably haven't..sometimes we have to forget about the garbage and enjoy the beauty thats left.....I need to do that actually..

I loved this piece. Beautifully written.

Danny, the imagery here was fantastic! Its like I was walking down this warm, quiet, country road with you... seeing all the families happy, the beautiful scenery. This poem put me at ease, calmed me. We do often take these things forgranted. To me the overall feel of this poem was kind of "stop to smell the roses" type deal.

    I loved this (:

This screams all-American to me, the fresh cut lawn, the historical homes with the pristine flower gardens and a flag hanging on their front porch. The imagery here is absolutely fantastic, I felt like I was walking down the road of a beautiful neighborhood... almost has a 50's feel to it to me, because most people nowadays don't take the time to just enjoy the beauty around us.

Very serene feeling here. Love it!

Once again this is a real place I like to go walking at in Richmond, Va!

Its also a place we have in our mind as, The All-American ideal that is being lost year by year with traditions not being passed down of lineage and or family history along with job outsourcing.

Therefore, making the American Dream more elusive today. What is missing is Family. We focus on financial stability but neglect family as a result.

So please stop I see what we are missing and realize the real reason what made America great.

    Judge Comment:

This poem is one that I read many times, and also one when read out loud brings it to life even more for me.

It's been quite some time since I've read a poem about America, and the author "Lifesbreath" took me on a patriotic journey in a sense, with a simplistic style, adding a nature scene as I read. I generally shy away from such types of poems, but with this piece I was hypnotized.. What a beautiful poem! Greatly adored this piece!!
