Heaven Celebrates

This day has never been the same
since we buried you beneath an April sky,
underneath a polished rock
that will forever carry your name.

On this day, I have never been the same
since we said our last goodbye,
and even though it is your birthday,
my broken heart still weeps your name.

December 28th will never be the same,
for an angel is now in heaven,
celebrating without us
of 81 years of her name.
