Yakari, another enthralling wrote by you, one that all of us can relate to.

    Everyone tells you it happens,
    but nobody tells you how
    how suddenly, you wake up
with a heart open like a church
    door on a Sunday.
    ^^
This is a great opening and it keeps the reader guessing as what this is you're talking about. At first, I though love until I read on. Great imagery of waking up with a heart like an open church door on a Sunday.

    How you are able to
    forgive everything and everyone
look at those who hurt you
    and smile full teeth-
    without one drop of hate
without seeing the colors of the past
    ^^
It's amazing how this happens but it does. We seem to wake up one day and just forget everything, all the hate and pain even if it does stay in our subconscious.

no, nobody tells you how you heal
or which date the wounds close
how the years swallow the resentment
    how it changes
    but it does happen
and the soul is always ready
    for that date
    ^^
Utter fabulous ending where I felt myself nodding along.

    Great write as always. Em

    Judging Comment:

The first thing I want to point out about this piece is that the imagery may be scarce, but the voice and spice to this is dominant enough to completely make up for that. The author's voice is beautifully etched out here and the point of this piece is just what I needed to read this week - I'm sure when others are struck by the force of life and all it's force that they will agree. There is something so gentle about this piece that just whispers "everything's going to be alright" after each and every inked out line and there is this sense of compassion that leaps off the page and sweetly tangles the reader in a warm embrace. Absolutely in awe of this write and how phenomenally it flows from one soul to the next (author to reader and vice-versa).
