Shaded By Light

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 23, 2016

I wake up in the morning,
instantly wishing the sun will shine down on your day,
for I know you are hiding in the dark
and you are wondering when this pain will ever stop.

Looking from the distance,
people may believe your smile,
but I can see the tears that have been locked inside
so deep for quite a while now.

You tell yourself that just for today you will fake a smile,
but days turn into weeks,
and you don't want to be a burden about it.
That smile becomes routine,
but each night I can still hear your tears
falling like silent raindrops on our pillow.

There is no shame in becoming shaded by the light,
trying to convince yourself that you will be honest soon.
But remember, that only through our tears can we ever really heal,
and burdens only become lighter after we share.

I climb in bed at night, sending prayers below your pillow.
Keep looking up, my angel,
for the stars will always be shining for you.
Pleas know that I am here for you
if there is anything at all I can ever do.

Never forget how very much
this little star loves you!
