Rival

Rivals....

I love it when
our fists meet
this wonderful feeling
so bitter yet sweet

I love the way how me
and you stand tall in this ring
and hammer away at each other
ohh the savagery that it brings

I relish the raw power of your fists
as they shake me all up inside
this feeling of uncertainty they give
that I love, only in yours can I confide

how it makes me burn with vitality
when we have our grand face-off
and my blow strikes you in the gut
but you don't flinch as you fend me off

oh the agony and the ecstasy
when we get up
on that stage ready
to show what we are made of

and we strip ourselves
of all outer appearance
to reveal the true spirit that burns like bright red magma in our souls
I will not settle for anything less than you giving your all

I might be a wild beast
but in this breast
beats a heart full of
human flesh

now bring it on
give me your rage
show me your destruction
unleash the true animal that lies within
that I have witnessed

And then!
We shall see!
Who is truly,
the strongest!

Excellent poem describing excited passion, with each verse the intensity grows. I wonder now if there's going to be a sequel?

Funny you should ask I was in the process of deciding how to add to it. Whether it will be another piece or an edit will be figured out when I get to finishing it.
