The United States Flag

by Amanda Campbell   May 30, 2006

The bloody red
The cleanly white
And of course the ocean blue.
Symbolize something no one could ever imagine.
Waving at passer-bys.
Standing tall above the ground.
It sees the purple mountains majesties
And saw the red bombs bursting.
It was there in Vietnam,
Its there fighting in Iraq.
Its keeping this country together,
But ripping others apart.
Blowing in the wind with such pride.
Makes Iraqis run and hide.
Blows around outside.
It makes the U.S. stronger,
Its what pulls us closer.
Holds the truth and the brave behind
Steps beyond enemy lines
Holds the lies and hides the truth
There is nothing better
Than the feeling of being saluted to!
