Can be short or long.
It can be in any form, as long as you explain it.
Has to be associated with the picture.
No need to reserve.

I will change the deadline if needed but this is going to be a quick contest and I will probably host one every week or two on a new picture.

Lost between happy and sad.

The roots set in strong,
growing too fast,
can't keep up that quickly
I'm losing the past.

The leaves grow up thick
to fall off each year.
Giving us hope
that only leaves fear.

The beauty I have,
the wonders alive.
Gives reason to wonder,
and wonder to strive.

Emotions set thriving,
from good to the bad.
No wonder we're lost
between happy and sad.

A palindrome, by definition, is a word, phrase, verse, sentence, or even poem that reads the same forward or backward. It stems from the Greek word palindromos: palin, meaning again, and dromos, meaning a running. Combining the two together, the Greek meaning gives us, running back again...The carefully placed words form the same sentence, whether it is read forward or backward. For example, 'Mirrored images reflect images mirrored' which includes a word in the center as a reversal point for the sentence or even the poem.

The Child of Green

I sit in silence, peacefully awaiting
For Trees to whisper their tales.
Sunlight glistens through Leaves of green
And dapples the silver Grasses by my feet.

The cool, sweet Air is thick and heavy
With tales the Trees have told
That give to most only fear of the unknown
But to me they intrigue.

Here I am safe from polluted airs
Laying in the Ferns, I greedily drink in
The crisp, cool Water gurggling nearby,
The Shadows illuminating Root and Stone.

I sit in silence, but not alone
The Trees and Creatures of wood,
Watching me, whispering to me
And chattering to themselves.

I am the child of Green,
And of Life and Peace
Just laying silently in their midst.
I smile, so happily
As Mother calls me for dinner
And stand to turn away.

To come again, my greates hope
As I leave my special Forest
As I leave my precious fantasies with them,
The Trees and Water and Leaves and Creatures
All wave their farewell.

Mint Green Forest.

A mint green
forest of yawning
trees dissolve eerie
silence of a shaded
evening--

as their felted
limbs of emerald-
drowsy by the sun's
uninviting glare; blink
involuntarily with the
chilled breeze...

gently allowing their
exhausted arms
fall to the side,
bidding adieu--
sliding into a
much needed
slumber.
