OK so all you have to do is take one of these titles of a song and write a poem. It doesn't necessarily have to be about the same thing as the actual song but if it is along the lines of it then that would be better. The dead line is September 8th. Two people per title. New or old poems. Winner gets three comments, one of their choosing. 2nd place gets two comments, one of their choosing and 3rd gets one comment. Have fun guys!!

    Twilight.

    Lemon drop rays
    smile upon cerulean
    creased waters;
    it's rainbow-like
    reflection--
    bestowed.

    Beauty sprinkles
    from it's saffron
    silhouette--as it
    descends behind
    sponge trees of
    jade green.

    A pearl moon
    awakens with a
    yawn; it's scarlet
    moonlight wrapped
    around two lovers
    nestled upon
    khaki sands.

    Waiting On an Angel

    His hands are clouded
    shrouded
in ink of pens and paint of brushes
and drawing of paper. I smile,
    he doesn't understand me,
    I don't understand him,
    angel. Angel... angel.

    My inspirational Godsend I thank
God to be able to meet him,
    to know him,
    because not all sweet
    or mysterious
    or amazing things look that
    way to every person...

And to look at You, it scares me,
oh you marvelous dark and shrouded angel.
Your dreams are haunting and you hear the same
    psychotic sounds I hear.
Your creation is beautiful, horrible, terrifying
but an addiction I can't replicate.

Angel I see, I wait on you to love me,
    although our languages are different.
    I can't decipher your mind;
    I smile,
    wait,
    if angels live so long.
    Then.
    I want you,
I want to remember your heart's song.

I want to remember your icy blond hair,
    your eyes.
    I feel you,
    I am amazed by you.
    To me, you were always
the portrait that came to life...

You slip away into the future and the past.
    I cannot find you,
    yet I discover you again;;
from concrete downtown heaven to distant old-friend places
only our memories will recognize such faces.
The art I could never replicate.
The artist I could never deface,
The mind I struggle to comprehend
    The image I cannot erase.
I wait on an angel, a divine, undecipherable angel...

    Solitude

    Hey there, honest people
    Stop living a lie today
    Hey there, honest people
    Stop erasing society

    Like frozen air
    Close off the lungs
    Like crows who stare
    Bite off your tongue
    Unknown to most
    Not near enough
    We hurt the most
    The ones we love

    Hey there, honest people
    Stop living a lie today
    Hey there, honest people
    Stop leading the wrong way

    On rust stained fingers
    On blood stained regrets
We will hold on 'til our memories forget
    Our vanities
    Our selfish needs
Oh please God, let me breathe
    Please God, honestly

    We try so hard
    But work so slow
    It falls apart
    But now we know
    Like evil smiles
    We're double edged
    Kind awhile
    Then we poison

    Hey there, honest people
    Stop living a lie today
    Hey there, honest people
    Stop acting like zombies

    On rust stained fingers
    On blood stained regrets
We will hold on 'til our memories forget
    Our vanities
    Our selfish needs
Oh please God, let me breathe
    Please God, honestly

    You never know
    What people are
    Until they show
    Their fallen stars
    Like lone wolves
    Destined to be
    All alone
    That's honesty

    Please God
    Honestly

    Unspoken

    If only to touch you

    to gently trace your lips

    to lightly caress you body

    with my fingertips

    if only to hear you

    to listen to your voice

for you to call my name

    by your own choice

    if only to love you

    up close rather than afar

    to brighten the dark night

love shines brighter than a star

    if only to reach you

to put the pieces in place

do you see how much i love you

when you look at my face

if only to be with you

    to be in your embrace

    knowing well be togetyher

for the rest of our days.

    Don't Tell Me It's Over

    I'm not hearing the
    goodbye
that you swear is on your
    lips.
    Though I'm sure
    it'll present itself
    soon enough.

    And when you wrap
    your arms around me,
    there's no sense
    of finality.
    Maybe you should learn
    to break it off better.
If that's what you really want.

    When your lips
    touch down on mine,
    there's no bittersweet
    taste; no signs
that this will be the last time
    we kiss.

    So don't tell me goodbye
if you're going to stick around.
    Don't tell me you're leaving
just to show up at my door.
And don't tell me it's over
    if you can't follow through.
