Postmodern Love Poem Contest

Write me a postmodern love poem.

    But:
    - It can't have the word "love" anywhere in it. No exceptions.
    - You must mention rain and/or the moon.

    - Any form, length, whatever else. I do not advise you write something too short, though.
    - Can fit under any category, as long as it has to do with love. For example: it can be explicit, nature-related, sad.

I'm looking for originality. Hit me with something postmodern (google it, if you don't know).

This is pretty easy, don't be put off by the word "postmodern", I basically don't want a poem that's like the rest of the love poems out there.

    An example: http://www.best-love-poems.com/poems.php?id=1114022

The aim of this contest is to promote a new way of thinking.

    Awards:
First place = nomination and three comments.
    Honourable mentions = two comments.

    Poems due: 25th September.

    PM me with any questions/concerns.
    Have fun!

Title: The Cloud And The Angel
    By: Lilium

Softly it rains and dampens the night,
an angel sit's on a cloud winded from her flight.
She pokes the cloud awakening it from it's sleep,
It's smiles drowsily at her and starts to weep.

Such sad eyes within a weary beautiful gem,
the cloud cries sullenly both outwardly and within.
The angel smiles delicately and hugs the cloud tight,
promising that everything will be alright.

The cloud wipes its eyes and looks up at her,
he sees something amazing with nothing to blur.
Such a magnificent creature that hes quite taken by,
while shes humming to him a sweet heartening lullaby.

He grins at her liveliness and feel's something spark anew,
It's something he knows is brilliant so true.
A cloud and an angel sit together under the moon as one,
Creatures so alike, a relationship that's just begun.

    When Heaven Sank to Hell

    When Heaven sank to Hell
    And darkness swallowed the light
He felt he'd reached the end
He feared he'd lost the fight

    Forever the Darkest Angel
    The title he couldn't dispose
He was drowning in his past
Where no one else could know

This Angel that felt so lost
    Seems to have been found
A dove appeared from amidst the rain
    And turned his heart upside-down

His feelings for her were strong
    Quite unknown to her
    The time they spent together
    Caused butterflies to stir

And now she's reading these words
Learning the feelings I speak of
For I am the Dark Angel
And she, she is my dove

I'm putting my heart into her hands
She tripped me and thus I fell
    This mesmerizing dove saved me
    When Heaven sank to Hell

    Blind and Hazy
    by dollwithafrown

    I sat beneath the willow tree and smiled to the air;
the rain, it filled my yellow cup and told me you were there,
and I held onto our branches, the ones that held our name,
and told the leaves that I'm okay, that you were not to blame.

    And I laughed and I cried and I smiled and danced;
upon the moon rising, I gave it a chance,
and it crashed and it burned and it tore at my heart:
swimming in secrets that can't bear to part,
and I'm blind and I'm hazy, my eyes cannot see -
without you as my guidance, my future's not free.

I paid for this life, like I paid for the booze
that lined our carpet, next to your sweaty shoes,
and I remembered the tales, upon which we took a chance
and I laughed and I cried and I smiled and danced.

And I'm blind and I'm hazy, my eyes cannot see -
I'm begging and pleading, but my future's not free,
and it crashed and it burned and it tore at my heart
your silky skin and cedar eyes, I cannot bear to part.

    Maybe you were broken;
    maybe your sky got black;
but I once had a broken doll,
and once fixed, she came back.

I am not sure if this qualifies as it not only deals with the love of one person but anyway.

The songs of light and darkness

    Part 1

    Descent into darkness

    I stand alone
    As I cry
Beneath these careless Stars of night
Without a hope within my mind
I merely await the suns first light
    The hated herald
Of the sad day to come
When I shall leave them all behind
To run so very far away
    But now
There is nothing left for me to do
    There are no magic wordsLeft
    For me to say
I can but cry my sorrow
    Unto the silent moon
How could this all have gone
    So terribly astray

    All night
I had watched the pieces weave together
    To summon the dawn
    Of this tragic day
    I had held my breath
    For what had felt forever
    Knowing that merely
    These Brief hours remain
    But still those hours
    Had flown into the never
    As the final moment came
    Knocking
    Calling my name
    And as a dark nightmare
    Within a terrible fever
    All was so unreal
    As those I loved
    bid farewell
    and turned
    To go on their way
    But In the end
    Was still the greatest sorrow
    For she was the last
    By my side to remain
    Our time together
    Had been so brief
    Though there was no-one
    Except myself to blame
    For all these words
    I would leave unsaid
    All these feelings
    I would never explain
    And then all too quickly
    That dead moment came
    When I released her
    From my last embrace
And looked deep Within her eyes
    dark and beautiful
    I so nearly broke
    I so nearly cried
    Though somehow
    I merely whispered
    My final goodbye
    And as I turned
    To walk away
    These silent tears
    I began to cry
    For something precious
    I had left behind
    For now I am naked
    Without a soul
    And through my tears
    I heard her whisper
    " I know"

    Then
    as the evening wind moaned
    through the trees
I heard the ghosts of the lost
    Whisper my fate to me
    "Go north my child
    Unto the land
    where winter never ends
    Where no angel
    Will ever dare tread
    There you will find
    Your throne of bereavement
    There you will find
    Your crown of the dead"

Sorry if this is a little late.

I have a couple of comments to make. You guys need to proof read and punctuate your work propperly, it makes a difference. I liked the imagery in all poems though, so kudos.

    WINNER....
    Blind and Hazy by dollwithafrown
Everything about this was amazing. The imagery and the descriptions. Exactly what I was looking for and now I want to go and read more of your work.
I'll PM you asking what titles you want me to comment, etc.

There are no honourable mentions because only four people entered and I'd feel bad giving them out because it means leaving one or two people out.

    Thanks for entering guys!

I'll reply to your PM just now. <3
