    Where Will I Be?

In the deepness of my reverie I see the future dim,
With twists and turns I can not guess,
    Possibilities great and grim.

Through the depths of thoughts I can't explain and trains I can not catch.
There is a future I can not see
An end I can not guess.

When all is said and all is done and I have run my course,
When left and right, and right and wrong no longer is a choice
Where will I be when the end comes and I have made my bed,
Where will I lay at the end of ends when all is done and said?

From the deepness of my reverie the future is a blur
There is an end that I can not see,
Good or bad I am not sure.

Through depths of pros I can not weigh, and cons which hurt my heart,
There is a balance which will be made
As my life completes its chart.

At the end of all the "might have been's" and "never ever were's",
After every mistake has been made, along with the rights that felt so sure,
Once the a, b, c's have all been picked and the answers are cued in,
Where will I be when the last sand falls and I have reached my end?

    The Ghost of You

    I passed your grave today
    I had to stop...

Your death is still fresh in my mind
    like the scent of rain
    on a small flower.
I wonder when it will wither
    and die...but it still remains.
    Your voice has become a
    muted noise in my heart.
    Your face invisible to
    the memories I hold.
    Your touch now a mere
    itch on my skin.

Why have you gone from me?
yet the ghost of you remains...

Vivid captivation I can't break this trance
eyes like demons pierce through me
    and you're never coming back...

    Flowing white silk
    movement matches delicate swans
    and you're never coming back...

    Bone freezes beneath blood
    from the touch of transparency
    and you're never coming back...

I can't feel you here but
    the ghost of you remains.

    Wish you were here

    Your thinking is Floyd
If you think I'm to have a cigar
    That won't get me far
As Barrett sat on his barrow
    Strumming his riff

While Wright had his Way with Stein
    Ghosts of souls took him
Cold comfort when he takes a swim
    In a fish bowl
Can he tell heaven from hell

    Gilmour

    Had always hoped for more
    The sound most acoustic
    From one so artistic
    But Waters alienation
    The same old fears
    Created a greater riff
    Tearing the F from D

    Fort Worth Blues

    Cornered again by my thoughts
A rancid smell wafts through the air
    Amidst the skies
Cloudy as far as the eye can see
    Buzzards stare me down
Right in the middle of the city
Back of my neck trickles with sweat
    How could this be
    Love's left me again
I'm left to contemplate what it is to feel pain
A man walks by and tosses me a smile
But it just grazes my heart and passes me by
    Like he did
    Take a look around
    Buildings everywhere but
Not a damned thing in sight save a
Dried up earthworm who probably screamed
    When he died
    And I try
    What the hell
I belt a raspy yell out
    People flood the streets
No one can hear me for miles
    I'm the only one around
And though I've never been here
Never seen the damned place in my lifetime
I've got the Fort Worth Blues
    And out here
    Honey
    The sun don't shine

    Never Think

Just let yourself, and don't stop and think
Let your pen fly, don't let your heart sink
Let your words apear upon a sheet of paper
Let your worries turn to mere vapor

Let you mind go free, allow it to wander
Find a peaceful place, let your mind ponder
Never is it a bad time to write your thought
Write of love, the battles you have fought

Don't allow people to tell you what to do
Write what you feel, write what is true
Don't write what they what to hear
Write whats on your heart, and everything near

Free your mind of worries don't be stressed
After you get down, its off your chest
Be creative, be heartfelt and dear
Write of exsitement, write of fear

Sorry for pushing the deadline on this.

    You Might Die Trying

    Frozen deep within that chest
    Resides one broken heart
    Corrupted and possessed
    Your sanity is drifting apart

    Beginnings require conclusions
What is it you have lost?
    Perfection requires delusion
What star signs have you crossed?

    Envious feelings pervading the mind
    Spoiling nostalgic memories of life
Vision blackens until you are blind
Seeking comfort within the silver knife

Pale ivory skin cuts the night
    Scarlet flows outlining the scene
Tears fall on a lugubrious sight
    Revealing sorrow typically unseen

Wounds so deep pain fades away
    Death's chill muffles the crying
You can bleed out your dismay
    However, you might die trying.

    Quite alright.

I'm a bit disappointed only 7 poems have been submitted, though very lovely poems all of them. I should like to give this contest more time, perhaps against my better judgment. And so, the contest will close when 10 poems have been submitted - unless reaching that amount takes far too long.

    There you have it.

Get those poems in, those of you who reserved titles!

  • dollwithafrown

I'm really sorry I haven't submitted my poem yet. I completely got caught up in uni work and forgot about the deadline. It's half written, so I'll try my best to get it finished today.

    Colorblind.

    A lemon drop sun rises
    from beneath inflated
    clouds of pearly white,
    illuminating a tasteful
    blueberry sky--
    simply breathtaking.

    Cherry, golden and
    chocolate leaves
    coat the candy apple
    ground. Their aroma's
    entwine--soothing my
    senses as I inhale,
    exhale.

    Through colorblind
    eyes, I allow my
    imagination and
    senses to splash
    color, life, on a
    rather dull, black
    and white canvas
    I like to call
    my world.
