I've seen beautiful but it's always had a way of lying to me.
It's like the last star in the sky is up there shining so brightly
but it's always too far away for my tarnished hands to reach.
Not even it's radiant glow can light up these hands of bleach.
I've been next to beautiful, she used to be my very best friend.
She was like the tip of the iceberg and I was just the other end.
But the thing with beautiful is it can be deceiving and cunning,
so that the knife's in your back before you even start running.
I've loved beautiful with his eyes the colour of the sevens seas
and his heart so cold I never even noticed it made me freeze.
He had his gun to my head but his beauty made it worth while.
He pulled the trigger but all I could see was his shining smile.
I've been burned by beautiful but I can't seem to stay away.
It's always the same game but my yearning makes me play.
You're grinning and laughing and you're clearly only trouble
but I just move closer to you because you're just so beautiful...
