Blowing Ashes

by Everlasting   Apr 11, 2014

Ashes in my eyes,
a burnt world that sleeps tight.
It is divine,
to see fire consume the night.

Though a bonfire
not of people but of wood
burning brightly
to the moon

in a sea of calmness;
in a beach to wander
with bare feet
leaving footprints on the sand,
Sneaking behind boats
and winds that watch us
as the world sleeps tight,

Blowing ashes to my eyes.

    Your poem of this bonfire on the beach put a vivid image in my mind, leaving me a sense of freedom and abandon, creating a magic moment. Brings me back to all my night walks on the beach. Very well done!
