Tears To Cry

by Twisted Heart   May 23, 2008

Maybe it's the whisper
of a love that's gone away
That winks within the chamber of your mind
Perchance it's just a linger
of a word that's gone astray
A longing for another place or time.

Still closer now the wetness falls
upon a cheek so fair
A coldness leaving wreckage from a fall
Within the soul a word that soars
into the darkness there
And then it's like it isn't there at all.

Where true the battle reigns
against a harness to a breath
Inside a faded dream that's lost and gone
A simple tear that falls
upon a wound that caused the death
Without a chance to rise and carry on.

Who comes now feeling hunger
from a bitter frost of pain
A stumble on the road less traveled high
Leaves all the loss that holds a song
within a heart that rains
Then pours in every tear that's left to cry.

    Jeannie,
First, Oh how I have missed you and your poetry so much.
Second, nothing but the best as usual. I found myself having to re read the poem to get the flow of it, (only cuz I am stupid like that) but once I did and found it the poem did not let me down. wonderful job
