Torrid and deep

by Kyle   Jun 11, 2008

The earth swells and opens to swallow me whole

Cold in the ground, it's time I pay my toll

My acquiescence leads my soul to be surrendered at the end of this test

horrible things I see and feel when I rest

at night my sense of loss does prevail

but it is all nothing compared to my waking life
at the mercy of it's travail

It could be silent and hard to see

Or too torrid and too sad to stay hidden inside of me

It will have to bleed out eventually

longing for you I will always be
