She Carries Me Through

by Liz S   Jun 22, 2008

Gentle words, caring spirit
touches my heart.

From within the darkness,
emotions swirl,
trapping me behind a cage,
with no door.
I see no way to escape, and
I collapse under the weight.

One single hand reaching out,
to soothe my broken, empty heart.
Someone to lean on, someone who cares,
as I take their hand and release my tears.

I feel her arm around me, as she
holds me really tight, softly whispering
in my ear that you are going to be alright.
I am here for you and I will stay all night.

Carrying me, like a mother
does a child.
Carrying me over the rough edges
of hurt and pain until I can find the
strength to walk on my own again.

She carries me, as I hold her hand,
and say Thank you, you saved my life.

She carries me through
