Sweet smell of gasoline rain

by StandStill   Jun 27, 2008

Take a step back now,
look around at the streets.
The houses all lined up in pretty rows.
sitting tall and neat.

Sit outside on the front porch,
just talking to wonderful him.
Smile at his magic eyes,
oh how sweet friendship does begin.

But suddenly it crashes down,
black boxes open, purging out their fears.
And I am screaming now,
his magic eyes filled with tears.

I swear to God I didn't mean it,
whatever it is that I said this time.
He leaves so fast, i can't catch up,
clocks scream "he's no friend of mine".

Just want him to come home.
Just want to know that he's ok.
The rain clouds flood the world again,
springtime sweetness swallowed in grey.

Streets get slick like oil,
and all the houses now ignite.
Welcome to my worst disaster,
sweet dreams into the night.

The houses are burning down,
and here I am again.
Somebody saves our souls
from the gasoline rain.

And now there's nothing left,
time to start over yet again.
See new houses sprout up quickly
prepared for devestaion from the pain.

**This is actually a history. The person it is written to has the capability to read it, but probably won't. It's got treasure hunts in it...that's how you know it's to you. I didn't actually mean to write this like this..it's just how it came out. Shows that not talking to me for a day or two forces me to think about you..**
