Blistered Hearts (Rondel)

by Ashleigh Skye   Dec 18, 2008

You're like a fire cracker around an open flame,
an explosion around every turn,
oblivious to those you burn,
you only care about playing you're game.

Out of all your actions you feel no remorse or shame,
I believe for the pain, your body must yearn,
You're like a fire cracker around an open flame,
an explosion around every turn.

Your triggers and remarks are all the same,
so self preservation I must soon learn,
if I want to escape the marks and the burns,
so for now things will stay the same since,
You're like a fire cracker around an open flame.

    Blistered hearts

(since) does not rhyme with flame, same, game or shame. This poems design was very confusing. All in all I don't feel that this piece was your strongest. Keep up the good work though and look forward to reading more.
