Surrender

by Twisted Heart   Feb 5, 2009

Moon glass picture silhouettes in the sky
As distance weighs deep in the soul
Of many a journey this mind took alone
Through trenches in hearts turning cold

Stars dip in the glades of tears cried in vain
Reflections of dreams gone amiss
Of tender arms holding too long in the night
And gentle love shown in a kiss

Sweet churns of the moments gone lost in the tears
Through trials that heart had to face
Caressing the soul is a time long ago
That shattered and died in disgrace

Dark haunts in the empty heart lying in waste
The battle scars deep and unkind
No longer a strength to hold to its fates
No life left in heart, soul or mind

So lay down the gauntlet that pierces the heart
In the soul is such trouble to bear
The mind holds a cruel that only sees time
As pain takes the three unaware

On battlefields scattered with blood of the young
True souls lost in fights left too tender
No hope for the life that held in the night
No course left except to surrender.

Jeannie what a sad yet beautiful poem. You pieces always flow so nice.

Sweet churns of the moments gone lost in the tears
Through trials that heart had to face
Caressing the soul is a time long ago
That shattered and died in disgrace

How sad this stanza is. How many things we miss from the happier times in our life.

Dark haunts in the empty heart lying in waste
The battle scars deep and unkind
No longer a strength to hold to its fates
No life left in heart, soul or mind

How many people feel this way. They feel dead inside. Love scars run so deep.

    Great job!
    Love Cindy
