When Forever Ends

by Twisted Heart   Feb 26, 2009

For just a moment
As seen through eyes of time
Love captured for a minute
Pure hearts with trust entwined
Mere instants scattered
Upon lazy afternoons
With hope and faith we tarried
Beneath the breath of starlit moons

Perfect days of wonder
Met passions of the night
Two hearts wrapped up together
In arms that held us tight
No force of bitter winter
Seemed too hard for us to bare
With love we forged a faithful front
In mere moments that we shared

But somewhere in the distance
Came a silence in the wind
No longer words of comfort
To heartache that was sent
Upon the break of starlight
Smothered hearts and souls combined
No longer did we feel the love
That kept our souls entwined

Now settled in the aftermath
As frost tips us in the wind
We face the truth of all the years
With loneliness it sends
And souls lay shattered on the sands
Hearts broken rage within
Our lives are left in stormy folds
When Forever ends

    I love these 2 lines.

Awww the ending was just so touching. When forever ends ... the thing we think will never happen and then it slaps us in the face.

    Touching read Auntie ....

^I love this last part of your first stanza, the last line just brings it home for me, very nice.

Your flow was pretty good and I like the story you were telling, it felt so sadly romantic. I really enjoyed it. Nice work.
