Hell Waits

by Twisted Heart   Mar 4, 2009

The tears fell on pillows of snow
As the misty blue moon faded gray
A look at the sorrow now was entombed
Beneath the headstone where he lay

Dark vapors of heartbreak felt deep inside
By the love he left standing alone
A thunder of teardrops she's already cried
Kept hidden to none she has shown

Pain dips in the soul as she stands by the grave
Of the love she had promised to keep
Now tearing inside, there's nothing to save
Except in her dreams when she sleeps

Too many a lonely night looks to her eyes
Now vacant of life in despair
No longer the arms to hold her each night
Only memories caught unaware

Those memories cloud on the darkest of moons
Then slams at her soul everyday
Each moment she lives is one lived in ruins
And humbles before hell that waits.

The image you portray here is so powerful, and sad. Death leaves behind such mixed emotions but you capture their pain with your words, a great write.
