Darkness

Darkness is a shadow,
it follows you around,
and if you try to stand up to it,
it grinds you to the ground.

It spits upon you sickness,
that infects your every cell,
you are then blinded by a fever,
that drags you down to hell.

Falling on forever,
in the darkness curse,
until finally landing frightened,
upon the devils hearth.

He smiles a wicked smile,
which turns into a grin,
"I see you have arrived"says he,
"Thanks for dropping in."

You scream,and shout and struggle,
and push yourself away,
but all this does is strengthen the curse,
causing your dismay.

But when you're finally free,
and you think it is the end,
you turn around and realize,
darkness was your only friend...
