He was there every night,
Couldn't seem to let me go
I was his star and he was my light
To me he was everything, but just right
He wasn't perfect, or what do I know
But when he told me, I simply broke.
I heard it from others, but in denial.
Til I heard it from him, it was final.
He told me he was leaving, and forever
There was no coming back, not today..
Not never.
He cried himself to sleep in my arms
For I had no sleep at all
So I walked by the beach thinking bout his charms
While crying I slept, but tried not to fall
For I kept wondering what he meant
I went to check on him and he told me
That he wished he could stay with me

He asked me to hug him tight and say I love you
He told me to say it once more and hold him
It was around 4:30 when I fell asleep.
And realized what he meant
He had gone away from me
He had gone to heaven and left me
For he had no choice
Every night and on Id hear his voice
For he would whisper he loved me
And wished he could be
Be the father and a family
Of my one and only child he left me with
The angel sent from my friend,
My sweetheart and man I ever loved...
