Passing Time

Days pass as smiles weaken
Things will never be the same
We have finally been defeated
Our reality is no longer a game

Weeks pass and I still haven't seen your face
Tempers fly as hurtful are exchanged
When really I'm just stuck in this awful place
No more need to shout I understand it all now things change

Finally upon arrival I see your smile
And things feel real just like before
We laugh and joke afraid to get to close
Yet neither of us know what's in store

The first time I've seen you in weeks
Every step I get closer gaining ground
I hug you good bye and gently kiss your cheek
Never wanting to let go I just wanna listen to your heart pound

As I walk away you grab my arm and pull me close
You hold my hand and kiss my face
Sometimes this is what I miss the most
That gentle kiss and that sweet taste

But we walk away and forget these things
They weren't supposed to happen
Even though secretly I'm falling in love again
I just can't tell you my feelings my heart wins

My legs shake and my knees buckle
I just wanna scream out above the crowd
My mind races to find that memories
When it was just you and me...
