New Year

by Sourav   Jan 5, 2010

The party is over, alcohol runs down the vein
Craziness is crossed the line, now it's insane
Hysteric laughter, fake smiles- false resolution is done
These are all for little escape, these are all for fun
Firecrackers burned and died; earth gasps for air
A year has passed, time wears another thin layer;
Life smiles with pity- at the end of every joyful cheer
Nothing is changed, begin of another monotonous year.

    I'm so glad to see you have posted another poem. I have missed reading your verses. Like the old saying goes "All that glitters is not gold" There are always people who put on a mask of falsehood and happiness that really doesn't exsist. Maybe that is the only way they can face the world. Very deep and intense piece you have penend.
    Excellet job!

    Sourav, a brave honest write about the glitter and tinsel that the world will hold out to us sometimes ...I feel bursting like an empty bubble. I share your sentiments as I know what you mean. All is not what glitters. Very well written and expressed. Well done :)
