Brand New Day

I woke up today not
knowing what to expect.
Skies of the bluest blue
or clouds booming with
cold rain. A house full
of people or a room with
just me. Either way it goes
I woke up and I'm ready
to go on.

Yesterday wasn't the best
and tomorrow may be worst.
But that's in the past
and the future may never come
if I keep dwelling on what could
have, should have and didn't
happen.

Today is now and it's not going away.

So I get up, stretch my legs
prepare myself for the happiness or
devastation of the day. Either way
it goes I'm going to make it through.
There's a reason I woke up
to see this brand new day,
now I just have to let it
find me.
