Bad Weather

by Timothy   May 29, 2010

The wind is blowing, and it's something I can't gage,
It's terrifying and powerful, something akin to change;
There's absolution and finality in those gusts,
Because the bluster has blown away all our trust.

The rain is driving, yes, driving us apart,
It's washing away love, sweeping it out of our heart;
The deluge is only getting bigger, flooding you and I,
Will the rain ever stop falling from the sky?

The lightning crashes, causing a permanent rift,
The streaks of pain--are they all that's left to sift?
The thunder is the aftermath, and the bad weather never retreats,
Our time together, as limited as the storm, and inevitably a defeat.
