Falling Out Of Love With You

by Rachel   Nov 30, 2010

You shoot one of those perfect smiles
looking at me like you care

How can you do that
when you've left me there

your laugh makes me smile, and for a moment I forget
that you left me here, you never cared

Where were you? When I gave you my heart
When I let you in

All I asked for in return was your love, your care
and you threw it all away, for her, for you

And you've said you were sorry, sincerily, you'll change
but you don't. it's the same

I trusted, got let down, stood up
and I'm here alone again, standing for my own cause

Who will stand for me?
I stood for you, for us

How could you do it? I don't understand
How could you look me in the eye and say you love me

You lied, I'm sick
But don't go, you can't, you have my heart

It's in your pocket, in your hand
you hold it tight, just in case

Your ego needs it, not your heart, your soul
like mine does

You look me in the eye, you kill me
you kill every part of me with that smile

You smiled at her like that
you still want her

Why did you ever try,
in the beginning, you were my shield

Why did you even bother?
why'd you sing with me at all?

But you don't see, you never will
I'm a fool, a fool to fall for you, again and again

I can't fall out of love with you
