A seam of ubiquity

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 15, 2011

You melted your every wish for me,
molding a small outlook of our love
into a roofless palace of complex beauty.
Throughout my life I have alternated
between one who questions
and one who thinks nothing-
yet in this you have learned
how to draw the outline of my wings.
With this key you direct an answer
where in the evening you wander
I touch the sky so indefinite,
grasping an unborn sigh
of some sense of time-
how we painted the world
in its fallen allusions.
You always turned away from sweetness
tending to build humble, ivory stairs
to reach the stars- to free my heart.
