The looking glass

by hope   May 22, 2011

Another tear falls silently down her cheek,
she wonders who she is, how she got this weak ?
When darkness falls, thats when the mask is lifted,
the pen hits paper, she's truly gifted.

But darkness fades & light it rises,
everyday is a challenge, brought with new surprises.
The mask is replaced, it's time to act again,
she wishes she didn't have to play pretend.

She wears her mask well,
but one person can tell.
He see's the pain in her eyes,
understands the tie's.

He confronts her about the truth,
let's her know he see's the proof.
See's the scars on her wrist,
he knows that there's a twist.

This person is to, broken like she.
He wants her to fly, but could he ?
wings are damaged, torn like no other,
witness the pain he caused to another.

Tied down by chains,
Do they know his pains ?
Can they see his hurt ?
Knowing his more alert.

He tries to help her, hesitant to accept,
Fear in her blood, her heart they have kept.
Not everyone knows, only he can see,
He wants her to live, God can she be free ?
